Kalah Hendricks

Hello, everyone! My name is Kalah (pronounced Kayla). I am a mixed media artist originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I've always loved art, and initially studied Fashion Design in my hometown before finishing at The Academy of Art University focusing on Fine Arts & Art Education. My artwork is primarily inspired by personal experiences and moments of spiritual enlightenment, as well as socially controversial topics centered around our world.

 

My favorite technique is drawing & painting, but have grown to love combining many art materials like acrylic, tempera, charcoal pastels and textured paper with words to create dynamic pieces on large canvas.

 

My background with children began in high school working as a pre-school assistant teacher. I've also worked with various accredited after school programs as well as a Summer Art camp teaching assistant. I absolutely love to see children grow as artists in their own way. I also have a 3 year old daughter Mila who I love making art with. My love for art and kids makes this position as a studio manager a perfect fit for me!
